I have a class B Cdl, but not an A, so am looking into companies that hire and train new drivers. I just applied to Prime and am now looking into other companies one can survive for a year in for the experience and payback if they are willing to drive and work. I am not expecting a rose garden or anything of the sort, but I do expect a job I can actually DO, and run legal.
I need a job where I am not doing the lumping. I guess that is called drop and go? Just do not have the body strength to be hauling sides of beef around, but I am a good driver and willing to work. It would be nice if eventually I found a good team mate for team driving, but as the tales here illustrate well, the wrong person can make that horrible and I am happy with my dog's company anyway.
Also would like to meet other lady drivers here and hear what they have to say about the companies out there.
Suggestions of companies that have a lot of drop and go? Perhaps some ideas? Oh, and yes, I am reading the forums here and getting the gist of who to avoid big-time. My Dad was a trucker and I know how some of the companies deserve to get shut down for thier practices.
Thanks, and hello to everyone out there. I have benefitted a lot already reading your advice and comments here
