Sigh... This is what happens when people over- and mis-use the word "homophobic". Literally, the word means 'afraid of the gay'. It is possible to want to maintain your personal and sexual privacy, without it being about fear. It is even possible to disapprove of someone else's public behavior, sexual or otherwise, without it being about fear or hate.
Please, don't be a special squirrel. That your sexual preferences may be unusual or different from mine, does not mean that you have to put them in my face - or that I have to tolerate them, if/when you do so. If you don't like the 'homophobia' of that, then let's just call it sexual harassment.
If it would be inappropriate for me to talk about my masturbation habit with a woman in my truck, then it is equally inappropriate for a trainer to talk about his sexual habits or preferences with a student in his truck - regardless of his sexual preference.
In this instance, his comments could have been highly offensive, if, say, the op were gay, or had a friend or family member who was. But that doesn't mean that gay people are immune from similarly offending straight people, with talk about their preference.
It would all work out so much better if we could all keep our junk put away, and out of our mouths - er, I mean stop talking about it...![]()
Need some opinions on my trainer
