I agree. I havent seen it. But from what he describes.. some spit and elbow grease and its my dream truck. W9 or long nose Pete are my 2 favorite based on looks alone.

My only apprehension is that I dont want to pay for the priv of driving one. I'm out here to make money first. The hoopty I'm in now is proof of that.

I'll take a look at it. I'll pass along his info if I pass on it. I'll try to get some good pics at least.

That's a reasonable price for an 11 year old truck. Take a close look at the front cab mounts and the rear cab shock mounts on the bunk. I'm not sure if you are in the south but northern peterbilts start having corrosion issues around that age. Not sure what you drive now but thier is something to be said for driving something that you actually enjoy driving as opposed to something that is cheaper to buy or slightly more profitable. The other thing is serviceability. You don't hear many mechanics ######## about working on a peterbilt. To me that's worth something also.

"The guy is 70 yrs old. His wife got sick 4 yrs ago and died 2 years ago. He parked the truck when his wife came down with cancer. The truck has been parked for 4 yrs. Says he comes out and starts it up. But does not want to drive anymore. I talked with him on the phone and he sounds genuine. I just dont want to get blind sided if I decide to buy this truck"

I think you already answered the question.
He's 70, he's old school. You may just be looking at a genuine "Good deal". I wouldn't over think it, but I would listen very close to him. Try and pick out how he took of his "old girl".

I do want a 379 so bad I can taste it. Hopefully its everything he says it is.

Heck just look at the responses here in this thread. That shows exactly how popular a 379 still is. Probably could have been an easy flip. LOL

It's possible that he got the impression from his daughter that you take care of your equipment ... When I let my 69 GTX go due to being impracticable for young kids I let it go for less to a local guy I knew that took care of his cars .. I'd buy it you can't lose at that price guys are paying twice that here
