Only fiberglass I can find on mine is the top. Mine is a 99 though. I personally don't like the full fiberglass hood with integrated fenders but that's just me. To each his own.

I had an '04 379 with the similar specs. 550 HP, 13 speed. You can buy that truck all day in TN for in the upper $20's but not with a fresh engine. If you can verify that the engine is fresh and check the things others on here have suggested, I'd be all over that. I'm a Pete and Cat fan as well. I pulled flatbeds with mine and averaged low 6's for fuel mileage. You won't make a fortune on superior fuel mileage but that sounds like a good deal. The 6NZ is a great engine. I've had the 3406e, as well. Both are great. Go for it.

What any owner "has into it" has not got anything to do with what something is valued at, or could fetch at sale. I have prolly $70k + into mine, on a good day I could get 45.

I didnt see the pics-but the updated description isn't of a truck I'd buy. And with an owner that gave bum info over the phone-that's something that stops me in my tracks.

    Cetane+ Thanks this.

Tires alone will cost me $6k. Air bags, bearings and races.. all of the intake, cac and inlet couplers need to be replaced. Fuel tanks will most likely need flushed. I was building a laundry list in my head over everything I saw. I saw money being thrown at it left and right. Too much money.

Wiring and lights for one thing. Every single amber chicken light and marker/signal lights are faded or broken. The entire interior and dash needs to be swapped out. Probably best to just replace entire wiring harness from the tail lights forward. Paint was faded, tool boxes rusting, bottom of exhaust showing rust. 5th wheel to low for what I do. 3.70 gear with 22.5 wheels wont suit my needs..will turn too many rpms to be efficient over 60 mph. Every little nickel and dime thing on the truck was showing its age and just looked like.. well, like turds on a carpet.

I cant begin to tell you guys the money I've sunk into this worthless Columbia to 'clean it up' and make it livable. But thats just me. Its what I do to anything I own. I've got probably $1500 or more just on misc interior fixer uppers. And anyone who has owned a Freightliner knows exactly the little bs things I'm talking about.

glider with a pre-emissions crate motor if you're rich. Heard they're gonna clamp down on that though. These new emissions engines all suck.
