Need someone to protect me from Double Brokerage.

How new were these Mc numbers? How many had a SoCal phone number?

 

What are you currently doing to vet your carriers?

 

carrier411 will help, as long as you aren't the first company that gets scammed by the double broker. Once they've scammed a few folks the freight guards go up and then it's easy to catch them. Avakotos (sp?) also has some great intel on how to avoid getting scammed.

 

Watch for recent address/phone # changes. They're buying MC# from idiots just for scamming.

 

All of the glendale gang use certain insurance and factoring companies. If you no load the factoring companies/insurance, it will go a long way. i can send the list i have. Also they all work out of call centers in other countries. IF you can check the IP address you will see Armenia and Uzbekistan and India.

 

I would love that list Avrakotos. I'm curious, how do you check the IP address?

 

No idea, but i see notes from our back office that they are using an IP address during the setup process from Bombay. My guess is its our IT dept that knows all about that.
