I really believe the IRS doesn't care from who they get the money from, for they just want the money! So it's only my son left to carry that burden,

Actually, the IRS, if properly approached, would rather go after the employer. They can assess pretty hefty fines and seize assets.

Your situation, the possible employer is dead. Not much you can do here.

But anytime you deal with the IRS, Documention, pictures are all in the best interest.
