We know, you wouldn't believe the deals we had to make to keep that a reality.
Mommas_money_maker Thanks this. -
I was just reading this thread and am wondering if this is how most requests to help find friends or relatives are received ... as the poster is trying to hunt them down for back child support or some other motive other than actually wanting to connect with them? I have two posts in other forums looking for Bob Lubonski out of Mt Pleasant, TX, joined this site and posted seriously hoping I might get some helps from other truckers.

I would say yes that it definitely brings up the question as to what the real motive is to get in contact with someone. Something you want to keep in mind is that there are several trucker sites besides this one and he may or may not be a member of any of them. He may also go by a nickname or another name when dealing with other truckers. In other words, this is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Never mind what i said.Posting to two different people.Brian

Thanks Momma's and others. I guess I'm thinking of way back when my dad was a trucker and people used cb's more and there were no cell phones or computers. There were a whole lot fewer trucks then too. And you're right about him and others using nicknames and about it being a needle in a haystack. Just thought I'd give it a try and your board seemed the most open to general chat and folks finding someone.
Well, keep safe out there and thanks again! -
I took the wrong Thermos @ the 76 in Eloy about 3 years ago, I would like to return it to the driver that got my brand new one, and give his back. Can anyone help?

Yeah, you're a real riot Saddle. I think what's just common knowledge in certain professions, like trucking, just might not be what the general public understands. As a member of such, I have this image of truckers talking to each other, maybe spreading the word when a kid or an old friend is looking for somebody ... kinda like a big family.
You been trucking 26 years so you're probably in your mid to late 40's or early 50's and probably haven't experienced seeing old friend names in the Obits yet, too late to talk over old times - I have.
And the girl, says she's looking for her Dad, yeah that cold be a trick. It could be a kid reaching out from a ###### home trying to find a parent that might give a darn. Anyway, I found out this isn't the way to look and I'll apologize ahead of time for any of the rest of us that though we might just find some caring people out there on a truckers board. -
i am sorry that a lot of them came off rude, some of them may be.....but honey it is very hard to find someone out here with so little info. for the most part truck drivers are some of the best people you will find, but over the last few years a lot of folks started driving out of neccesity (sp) and thats not a bad thing, but some of them dont have the same helpful attitude that most truck drivers have. i am sorry to hear that you have found friends after it was too late. I am sure most of the people that commented meant no harm. The ones that did, ignore them. There are a ton of those everywhere......thats the hard part, online sometimes we may post something that sounds funny to us...but others reading it, may not feel the same.....FloTheWaitress and AFSTruckerswife Thank this.
