I didn't know they took recent grads. But anyway all companies do that they know some won't pass the drug,BG,Dot or driving skills part so it's best to bring in a lot. When I did mine for system they had two classes well it was a mix of TWT and system drivers not all made it some were sent home and some will not make it past the trainee stage the orientation is a interview not a foresure job offer

    My two cents-

Everyone deserves chances, whether that be a felon or a barely passing driver, everyone that wants a career in trucking, deserves a chance. There is no need to look down on others who are trying to get on their feet or take of their families.

The school I attended was on their list. The recruiter guy was very nice about it all. So far sounds like the best option. I keep reading about May and their weird pay scale, low miles and shoddy terminals.

You have to also understand why he posted that for you since you failed at that interview it's posted on your DAC as too why so any company to go for another orientation will also see it. If you have no choice after other attempts go with Carolina Cargo for 6 months and split you just need the road time I hope. But like others said try swift and the other mega outfits

They don't plan on sending home half the class, but that is how it works all too often.
Some fail the road test, some the drug test and some the background check.

If you can't cut it, it will be your own fault because of your own mistakes.
And it probably won't be any different with any other company.
Schneider is a decent place to get a start with. Don't count them out just because some people flunk out.

It is not a crap shoot as to who gets hired.
They don't roll the dice as to who gets cut.
It's all down to the individual. You make or break yourself in this biz.

The owner at Carolina has been in trouble himself. He also preys on these people by paying them next to nothing and running them into the ground. They are the literal bottom of the barrel and the only reason a driver should go there is if they have to. Western Express, with as bad as they are, are a giant step up from Carolina Cargo. Their unsafe driving is 95%. Their maintenence is 77% and their HOS is 71%. I will constantly remind people that it's slavery at Carolina Cargo.

No offense, but in this industry climate, if that's the only one who will take you, it's time to look at another career.

I dont know about that...the issue is some of these schools just crank out people...to crank them out. I know at Millis school is 3 weeks 6 to a class max and then 15000 miles with a trainer...a real trainer. Was I scared the first trip yep...now a year into it I feel better etc. Heck today I passed a CR England truck where the driver was watching a video on his I pad on the steering wheel with his leg up...that really scares me more.

I would agree with you there. However the truck school I attended helped boost your own initiative and made you use common sense. Not to mention they explain how not to be in a rush and take it easy. Above all else..being safe above all else.
