Bird perch mount is not doing the trick. Brand new Uniden 880 Bearcat, large coil steel antenna by K40, and a decent coax that I'm stretching out (so it will stop coiling--that helped bring the swr down some.

Where do I conect, and what's the best way to get a solid ground? SWR readings on the internal climb from 5-12 from 1 through 40. This is assuming I have the meter calibrated properly (digital readout--do I go past the CAL mark, or just below it? Where the bar above it is flashing?).

    Any help/direction is welcome. Thanks.
