    I have a 1996 Pete 378 3406e cat.

so I’m needing to install a 3rd airline with a glad hand on my truck to operate an air gate on an enddump trailer.
It seems like a pretty easy concept but I’m having a hard time understanding what I need to buy as far as an air valve and a switch.

I have a place on one of my air tanks that I can add an airline too. But from there I’m not sure what I need.

anybody ever done this? Tips? Kits?
    Thanks

Im guessing this is for a high lift gate? Why not wire it up so all the components are on the trailer and just have a switch in the tractor. Im guessing the tailgate locks are already wired that way.

The trailer I’m going to be pulling just needs a 3rd airline with a glad hand connected to it to operate. I just have to install the 3rd airline on my truck but not sure what I need to do it. And have a switch in the truck to operate said airline

Rather than having us explain it all I would just go to a good truck/trailer parts or repair shop and I'm sure they can set you up.

But yes you can tap into your air tank and you will need an electric solenoid valve to actuate it

Plenty of ways to do it. We prefer air between tractor and trailer where I work vs electric. Velvac has good drawings on multiple ways to do it. Attached the file.

Also, if frameless we set ours up so suspension dumps off the same control. Have another air switch for lift axle control and of course for electric tarp. Most places won't let driver out of truck which is a shame because no one wipes of apron and verifies tailgate is latched and suspension is up.

I think that will work with the velvac thing you just attached. Page 24 is exactly all I need really so that should work perfectly.
