Hello, Dtrainc3 and Welcome to the Site
In order to drive, Class A CDL, you would have to have a valid DOT Medical Card. If you cannot pass the hearing test then you would not be eligible to drive.
I wonder if you could driver with the use of a hearing aid?
Best to You!!! -
Yes i have a medical card and i wear hearing aids but its still hard for me to hear with the hearing aids.i have a letter that says i can do the work just as long as i wear the aids.I HAVE MY CDL I JUST NEED TO FIND A COMPANY THAT WILL GIVE ME A TRY.

If you think that your hearing is still impaired even with the help of the hearing aids, then you should address that issue before it becomes a problem. JMHO
Best of Luck!!! -
The problem I see is that you will have to pass another physical at any new company you hire on with, and that includes a hearing test.

Huh ??????

The requirements are listed in the FMCSR Physical qualifications for drivers § 391.41 (b) (11). If you meet these requirements then I don't believe any company should turn you down. I have seen years ago and it may be still there where you're required to carry a spare battery for your hearing aids. It would make sense because I sure wouldn't what to be liable for some accident then come to find out I couldn't hear.
