your guess is as good as ours as to when it will pick back up
my advice is not to buy a truck right now.....maybe in 4 months "if" things get to moving again......but right now the credit crunch, low volumes of frieght, the even lower frieght rates, lack of surcharge, frieght availability amounst numourus other factors are not leaning toward helping any form of trucking right now -
I second Bronc.
Now is not the time to leave a perfectly good job.
broncrider Thanks this. -
Wait until the end of the third quarter.
There will be a glut of pre-emission trucks from CA on the market by then. -
If your really gluten for punishment I know where you can pick up a 10 car hauler for a good price,............In all seriousness it would be wise to follow the afore mentioned advice........

Everyone keeps saying it, but I see no evidence of it whatsoever.
If the deals are great, the dealers are the ones getting them and sitting on them, building their inventory value and riding it out.
I have an early 2006 truckpaper sitting in front of me. One example there's a 2002 KW with 400k miles, asking $58k. Online that same truck specs and same year *now 3 years older* is $59k.
On the whole I see trucks going for maybe 2-3k cheaper on average. What's that like $30 a month less payment?
Nope the acres of trucks are building and they'll sell 'em for scrap before selling them cheaply.
Private sellers are hit and miss. They've lost their business, their homes, their credit, but they'll be ###### if they're going to take a loss on that one last thing. And anyway, with no warranty possibility it's not a good idea anyway.
Trucks are sitting and rusting, that's all that's happening.
