I have some driving experience. Drove for Redwing Carriers 30 some years ago. Have CDL, trained with Sage in Palm Beach florida 5 yrs ago. Extra clean driving record, no criminal record, ever. I have a current job that might be eliminated. I want to log some miles to or from S. Florida. Will drive for free just to log the miles behind the wheel. Non smoker.

Why do you wanna log some miles?Do you think companies will take that as varifiable OTR exp.If you wanna drive again you'll have to start at the bottom like everyone else does and probably take a refresher course along with going out with a trainer.

I want to log the mles to refresh my skills, I though of going back to Sage, they do offer refresher course. I saved enough money to get a decent truck (not new). Don't like the idea of working for anybody. That is what I have now in the corporate world. I have a couple of my biker friends who are totally independent, they book a lot of their own freight or use a broker when they need to. that is what I am looking for, drive, make e living and live a little. I have taken a couple of trips with them, short trips. When I drove for redwing I was a 22 yr old newlywed. I am 55 now, married for the 4th time, my current wife also wants to go on the road, that will certainly make it easier, but I am not sure if we will survive a 24/7 road warriors, I need my alone time at least a litle alone time.
