Plenty of freight forwarders in the LA area who can handle that for you. Schumacher Cargo does it all day everyday.

I would bet that our dispatch would be happy to arrange what ever your needs are. Most container warehouse could handle this, drive thru the warehouse in most cases. As to phone its listed I not sure if they allow us to give out phone numbers here. AJR Trucking Los Angeles

@ $400/hour? Between rigging everything up, picking it up, unloading the cars, setting it back on the trailer, and putting away the rigging, you're probably looking at 2-3 hours billed (from the time the wrecker leaves their yard until it's due to return). That sounds mighty expensive. A light duty rollback can do the job...probably run you less than $100 (possibly more like $50-$75). Back up to the container, drive car 1 onto the deck, pull forward, offload the car, repeat process for car 2. Don't have to hook anything up, no rigging, etc...job probably wouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes once everyone was there and ready to get to it.

As someone who hauls containers for a living, and regularly deals with automobiles in containers, I'm questioning why this person is on here asking for this information. Who is the shipper for this load? Who is the broker? What is the steamship line? How was the import done? Has the container cleared customs? Where did it originate from? Be careful giving information, you could be helping to facilitate a crime, if these are grey market vehicles, and this guy wants them out fast, maybe before customs has a chance to look things over, the trucking company hauling this can out could be in legal trouble, same with any wrecker service involved. We regularly get requests from individuals to haul containers out of the ramp, we always require proof of import, proof of customs clearance, and any and all legal docs to prove we are not engaging in illegal activity.

As someone who has never been to a port and the only container hauling I ever did was pull empty containers out, load with our stuff, and pull the loaded containers back to a rail yard, the stuff you mentioned never would've crossed my mind. Good info to know, though.

Ive never been to a container port and the thing sounded kinda fishy to me when reading the OP's post. Whole time I was thinking why wasnt everything he's asking for set up when the orders for the cars to be shipped here placed???

Sometimes, people will DIY it for importing containers, and then wait to figure it out on the other end. If this is a domestic import, like a Matson box coming in from Hawaii or the Islands, everything he wants to do it legit and easy, but if it's an international situation, then it gets sketchy

Well I always tried not to, but have hauled more containers out of ports than I ever wanted (not a lot by any means), but how would one get a container out that hasn't been cleared?

    Woodys and Liquidforce Thank this.
