Just a question to consider. With all of the talk about large impact wrenches, make sure you have a compressor with enough CFMs to run the big guns.

    SAR and spsauerland Thank this.

It probably will, just take a little while. Ultimately, loctite is just a plastic material and it doesn't take much heat to melt it, but the yoke is going to be absorbing heat fast. With a little time, it should work though.

    SAR Thanks this.

I ran a half inch air line off my secondary tank on my truck and installed a G style coupler on the rear light bracket. It runs my one inch pinless no problem.

You can run a big gun off a small compressor. Just depletes the air very fast. Your typical 60 gallon 220 volt compressor is pretty much taxed to the max running a 3/4 IR or CP impact. You can usually knock off 1 wheel before needing to let the air build back up.

    SAR Thanks this.

Hell, as out of shape as I am driving this truck, I can knock off about one wheel before I need to take a break and let my strength build back up. Lol

I've never needed more than a long handled 12-point 1/2" box wrench to break them loose. It's typically blue loc-tite which shouldn't need heat.

Make sure you get that nut on good, it’s no fun when you lose it

Usually, but I've run across several Sterling's that used Red and Volvo liked to use yellow. I guess they don't trust Spicer. The point was, if they don't come out, a little heat will usually get them out easily.
