Hello All,
I just joined the forum in hopes of getting some advice from actual truckers on a new product that I am developing. The product I am creating is a weather proof protective cover for the winch and load strap of flatbeds. The cover will be made out of a weather proof material and allow for the load strap to go through a slot, as well as two zippers on the sides for access with the winch bar to tighten and loosen. The cover will protect the strap as well as the winch against road elements that are kicked up from the ground (Rain, ice, mud, etc.)
The questions I have are when I see trucks driving down the road with no straps in the winch, is this because they do not want them to wear from the elements, or is there an issue with them being stolen? If it is because they don't want them to wear, isn't it a pain to have to keep winding up the strap when it comes time to tying down the load? How long do load straps usually last, I see very worn and beaten ones all the time, is there a hazard of them breaking from wear? And Finally, Is this something that you could see yourself buying?
I appreciate any help and input everyone might have. Thanks
