I have a sprint note 4 that I use just for a hotspot. Works at almost every truck stop and that's the only time I really need it, I don't watch TV while I drive. I use about 100gigs a month although I did have to root the phone so the unlimited data would work with the hotspot or you have to pay for hotspot and only get like 6 gigs at most. I have a verizon I use for a phone because sprint has garbage signal while driving. I pay about $80 a month for sprint because it includes the payment for the cost of the phone

i have a sprint note 2 with root and a downloaded hotspot app.

i have a verizon note 2 with included app. no root required for hotspot.

The phones are old and outdated so i don't know about the new phones. But i'm looking at sprint's websight. and I'm not seeing the option to add hotspot to the bill. I'm guessing it's included these days.

I'm also not understanding the rates that sprint wants either. Why would anyone pay for a certain amount of data for a price when the unlimited plan is only $70. Compared to paying $225 for 60 gigs. And why the phones have gone up in price while the same phones on verizon have gone down in price.

I want to get the new samsung. To see how much better the coverage is these days. But not wanting to commit to 2 years on a payment plan and certainly not wanting to pay the increased full retail prices. I also want to get the 128 gig phone but apparently it's not being offered anymore. Not that it was around to buy in the first place. But i'm not sure if i want the internal battery that can't be replaced like the iphone or the lost ability of no sdhc card. Phones get hot. Which means sdhc going bad and batteries going bad.

Mine does. I blow through 100+ gigs a month I think you might need galaxy tools after you root it. Open it and enable hotspot it'll restart your phone and it should work.

It might. You have to root the phone to use it though
