Using a ticket to get a job is one I have never heard of.

Find another company. Who wants to put up with clown's who won't except the fact the trucking company went out of business. "THERE'S YOUR SIGN MY FRIEND" Keep looking around. What you have is more then enough.

If that DOT # can't be verified thru FMCSA,,,he didn't have one! He musta been an outlaw outfit.
If thats so,,,then he probably didn't have insurance either? If he did & you can remember who the insurance company was, maybe they could help you.
For example...my DOT # is inactive and has been for about 10 years. If I did a search (google) with my DOT # it would show who I am, last known residence, contact phone, insurance carrier, etc. A DOT # is alot like a SSN. It's assigned to you and it's yours for life wether it's active or not. It's public information.
Good luck! -
why would you have to google your dot # though? wouldn't it still be on the fmcsa websight?
i applied to a company not to long ago. and they can't get verification from my last employment.
i said look at my driving record and my psp. i don't think i got a speeding ticket and 3 lvl 3's on the east coast from being a local boy.
kind of pisses me off though if my last company isn't going to do there job. -
All I needed was references from friends when I went on strike for 2 years.

I'm just trying to tell you that IF he had a DOT # you'd be able to find it.
edit; since you nor anyone else can verify his DOT #,,,he doesn't have one, Yer lucky no one connected the dots while you were sittin' on the side of the road.
Basically yer screwed and can't prove ya worked for a company that didn't exist in the 1st. place.Last edited: Dec 23, 2012
