Is primes Lease/Purchase not workable? I was talking to a guy that just finished his 4 year lease that week and fully owned his truck. He was driving teams since day one I believe. I mentioned getting his truck ungoverned and he looked at me like I had three heads so I figured he was fully indoctrinated.
Need walkway lease program, preferably in the NE regional area.

Every Prime lease driver I’ve talked to fully owned their trucks. One I met had a custom trailer also..One door was attached properly and the other one was laying down inside the trailer, lol.pete781693, Sirscrapntruckalot, Old_n_gray and 5 others Thank this.

You certainly don't need to do lease purchase to make 1200 to 1500 bring home. If you apply to RC Moore, that's primarily NE regional and I'm sure you could get all of what you need and then some with them. I'm thinking of another company that runs mostly NE, but I can't think of their name. Green trucksConcorde and M&PTransportion Thank this.

Why take on a company's expenses and not even get paid the going rates? It boggles my mind that someone would do a lease, take on all the risk and expenses, and not get paid the going lane rates. Those companies shave off up to a dollar a mile off of the linehaul. So you are left with just enough scraps to make you feel good about yourself and that you are an owner/operator. All you actually are is a glorified company driver, at the mercy of your load planner. And don't even THINK about taking time off. Those weekly draws from your settlements wait for NO ONE.
I remember the shark over at Stevens Transport practically begging me to sign onto their lease-purchase program. They offered 88 cents per mile on loads!!!
Yeah, OKAY! Let me take on the company's truck payment, fuel expenses, insurance, elogs, the kitchen sink, blah, blah, blah, to make 88 cents a mile! What a SCAM.
My trainer was a lease driver. When I saw that he was clearing only $1500 a week, I went off on him, even insulting him for his stupidity. And these were in GOOD times.
Dude, if you want to make owner/operator money, then BE an owner/operator. Don't be someone else's ######.Last edited: Jul 28, 2023

Fuel and driver pay are the biggest expenses with a truck. Prime has a big enough fuel bonus that very few Prime drivers would dream of driving over 58 mph except for real emergencies. Speed isn't worth going broke if you are paying the bills.

YOU NEED A LEASE? What you really need Is a real Company Job that will work you consistently and not paying some Thief Company like Prime to drive their brand new trucks

I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but one of the takeaways I've gotten from this board is that it's a better deal to finance a truck rather than do lease purchase?
Old_n_gray Thanks this. -
Exactly right.Old_n_gray and dave01282000 Thank this.

GNH I think they are called based out of Vermont.

I don’t know anything about them but Bellavance Trucking is out of Northern VT. They seem to have flatbeds vans and reefers around NE
