I usually ask for it by freeform macro. However, since I was at the terminal getting my truck switched out, I asked verbally this time around. Maybe, I need to send a macro about it in the morning.

I don’t normally do this but if you can put up with we try out Averitt . If they don’t have any local routes open just do regional until something opens up.’Regional will get you home on the weekends.

    Dan.S and dtj12231989 Thank this.

I will probably give them one more week to see if they get me my home time. After which, I will send a daily free form macro asking about my home time.

quit leave the trucking industry all together. going local may or may not work. i tried going local once. let me tell you it truly sucked. trucking is in my blood now. you will miss so much home life. you will miss so much friend life. the trucking industry is a very hard life. if your able to get out and do something else, then go for it. im not against driving. cause i love it, but the rewards are way smaller then the losses.

Badmon, SuperRookie and DTP Thank this.

Thank you for your response. However, I have such a big traveling spirit that being cooped up at home all the time won't work for me. Believe me, I tried it. Not to mention, it took me over ten years to find an industry that I actually enjoy working in enough to put up with all the crap that comes along with it. However, the trucking industry isn't my first passion. Auto mechanics is and always will be my first passion. I see this job as a stepping stone to getting to open my own auto shop. Not to say anything bad about trucking. It definitely has its perks along with its aggrevations. I have actually enjoyed driving a truck for the most part. Its just not my first passion.

    SuperRookie and truckdriver31 Thank this.
