There’s more to life than living in a truck and spending all your free time around ignorant jerkoffs lounging around truck stops. You can find something else that will at least get you home weekly or every 10 days. If a company ever left me out half as long as you’ve been out I’d have taken a plane home a month ago

It's hard to have a stable job history with a company that is causing instability in your life.

I would suggest you start looking because if you find a job that you like that gets you home more when you want to be, you'll be better connected with your family and you'll just be happier.

That's where you'll find a stable job history.

All they said was for every week I was out, I would get one day of home time up to a maximum of four days at a time.

I believe that. However, I'm just not that type of person to just up and leave a job anymore. I did that once and it was a two weeks notice at that. It got me in a worse position. That job is why I have no vehicle of my own right now.

Question on this. Would you give a two weeks notice on a company that does like that? Or would you just quit? My thinking is that giving a two weeks notice just might get someone's attention on the matter. However, it also could get me stranded a thousand miles from home too.

Just quit, you give them 2 weeks notice they’ll keep you out 2 months

Companies like that are used to people quitting, it’ll surprise no one. Would they give you 2 weeks notice if they were gonna fire you? Nope.

Well they certainly are not holding up their end of the bargain.

I understand not wanting to be a job Hopper but when and whenever you interview the company you always get to tell your side of the story.

Think about it like this. If you're going to be in trucking for the next 15 years but you changed jobs during the first year who cares? I don't think it's uncommon that people do that.

And the owner operator that you spoke with is exactly correct. Once you have a year or two experienced the companies will line up to hire you. You will get to the point that you can take your pick. But for now you really need to find something that you can be happier with.

    Maybe @Chinatown can help you.

If you want a stable job then you need to make sure that you can keep stable at that job.
How stable will you be at this job if you get too stressed out because you can not get home?

Once you set the line at what you will and will not do, they will start working with you on your terms.
Until then, you will be taken advantage of.

Well, I did try swift Swift and US Xpress and they didn't hire me. So, something must be said about that.
