Well, I have figured out something. This came from my dispatcher. I called him about my home time and he said I won't even on his load board. So, that does it for me. If Western Express can't even keep track of who is on what load board, then it is a bad sign to me. Luckily, @Chinatown referred me to a couple of places and I called one of em. Bottomley Enterprises sounds pretty decent.

I do have some good news at the moment. My DM just called me and said he got me a load going to Kenansville NC. I know where that is and it is no more than two and a half hours from home. I should be there by Thursday.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. I will be home by Thursday afternoon. I told my DM that I was feeling increasingly burned out and he got that load going as promised.

If u hate the job after 6 months. I can tell you it wont get any better. Get out while ya can . once u spend a couple years in this industry its hard to get out and get a regular job, because truck driving really doesnt count as experience for anything other than another truck driving job

I have a plan for later on. This ain't my first passion. Auto mechanics is. I'm just using this as a stepping stone to get to where I can open my own auto shop. I'm practically starving myself to a point so I can save up.

A random thought that creeps into my brain bucket.
If all drivers "quit" OTR and Regional, what would happen to the local jobs?

Would supply and demand drive local wages down?
What freight would be moved local if so much freight comes from so many parts of the country?

Would possibly all freight, no matter what it is, be moved via Hubs? Crossdocks? Airplanes? Shuttles?

Or would many local drivers be taking trailers to the rail yards? Could the rail yards handle such a large increase in volumne?

Just something I'm pondering as I read many posts, and the cure for OTR blues or pay or parking pains, etc... seems to be "Get a local job"

Just kicking the thought around...Ideas? Thoughts?
