That 4K-5K per month is about the average for take home monthly pay for crude oil drivers in W. Texas. I get paid hourly and I would highly recommend getting on with a company that does as well.

12-14 hour shifts are the norm. Everyone schedule is different hauling crude, typically a 5 days on 2 days off, 5 on 1 off, 6 on 1 off, 4 on 2 off, etc.

What company's do you believe are best to go to work for (In Texas anywhere). That will provide the most stable work of course. Just not trying to sign on to the wrong kind of company which I'm sure you can understand. Thanks Again

Go haul crude, get on with major if you can, Oxy, Conoco ect. But haul crude, wasting your time if you can get a hazmat and not hauling crude. E-Z Money

More likely to get hired hauling water if you have no experience. But there are some if you caught them at right time might give you a chance.

Most "tanker" companies want at least a year or two of just tanker. Some will hire you on with no exp. but you be making less $ to do so, but everyone's got to start somewhere. I am sure if you have a heart-beat, you will be able to get a job hauling water regardless. :)

    JonBon Thanks this.

Ok it sounds like I will be looking into the water hauling companies. I will be heading probably to the Victoria, Corpus area 2nd week of Feb as thats when i will have 12 months of current driving to go along with my 4 yrs of old experience.

Hello everyone. I have a CDL Class B with tanker and hazmat endorsements and no commercial driving experience. I plan on heading out to Texas for an oil job. What are my odds of finding a job as a driver or laborer? Thanks.
