Thanks ME99, that's what I was thinking. I think I'm gonna get up early tomorrow and drive to Odessa. I've heard west Texas has less stringent insurance laws so they can hire drivers without experience. I just hope I can find all these places.

Good deal. I was hoping you wouldn't accept that deal with shale. You'll CID some company in west Texas that's just excited to have somebody with a cdl walk through there door. I know key energy has a driver training program at most of their yard out west right now. Which means they will help you get your license so of course they'll hire you if you already have it.

What are the locations for Key energy? Maybe an alternative next week when I arrive if things dont go well with Thomas or Pumpco

How is Shale' s pay for experienced drivers vs the others out there? Here in DFW they are all fairly close.

Shale used to start people at thirteen an hour but recently they've had to raise that. I know that both companies I've worked for have taken contract from shale. They can't seem to provide the level of service that's expected around here. They may have gotten better in the last few months but I would be Leary of any company with that long of a bad track record.

Key is a pretty big company with yards all over the place. I recommend applying online, or at any yard willing to accept an application in person. After that a recruiter will contact you and let you know which yards are hiring at that time. At least that was my experience with them.

You didn't find a job yet? Dang man; I don't know whats the deal PM me and I will give you some pointers.

I entered the forums in 2011 in October; when we first talked. Got my CDL Permit in Nov, got an offer from Halliburton. Then started working at the end of January... I waited till I finished school before I came down to take the position...

I will say this; if your going to wait... This winter the Snow birds are going to migrate from ND like they do every year... Then you got the opportunity to Jump in even in the panhandle here in TX... They move down further south I hear...
