I failed the test when I picked the manual went thur it thought I had a good grip and straight flopped it. If you have the $ and the time to go through the school go. I aced all 5 when I went to test from the school. I am currently in the 2nd week of driving and the instructors are all very knowledgable about the section they're in charge of.... ie ally docking, straight line backing, parrell parking, driving city/highway. All seemingly easy after parcticing, inside of that you need to apply yourself while you're there or it'll show. Jus my opinon and I am by no means and expert even a novice yet but I'll get there one day.

C&C I took all 3 parts at the same time! I did not know I could test separately like you did, well at least the guy didn't mention it and I didn't ask. That would make things so much easier for me! Great to know!

JoeBear, thanks for your advice, I'm most likely going to do what you did. However, mentioned above would be easier/less stress for me if I decide to get permit before class. Need to figure it out!

    Cheers everyone

Best wishes and just take your time!! I am at a bit of a disadvantage.....in empathizing with you because I never had to take the test as it now exists. I got my "TT" license in 1988 and was grandfathered in in '92 when NH became compliant with the whole CDL thing. The only thing I tested for since then was tank (which wasn't hard) if I recall the original test in '88 was 20 or 25 questions...

Hi SMTatham, same here, in the late '70's, my 1st TT job, the boss told me I should have a chauffeurs license, so I went to the DMV, the examiner asked me if I had a road test in the previous 2 years, I said, well, I took my motorcycle test the year before, he said , good enough. Except for the endorsements, which I always do poorly on, I've been grandfathered along all these years.

Try cristcdl.com (a good practice site). If it's multiple choice usually two of the answers are dead wrong, then take your time and choose carefully. If your not sure about a question and have the opportunity to skip it, then skip it and come back to it. Sometimes another question will answer a previous question. Don't second guess yourself. As a last resort you've tried all the previously mentioned methods and are still stuck, go with your gut. If you really don't know a answer go with your first instinct! Stay cool take your time and you'll do it!!!

Remember that^^^^ It is indeed a VERY small bump in the road, and lifestyle that awaits you..
The license is only a small piece of making a living driving a truck.
You can do it!Then you get to juggle companies, equipment, parking, life, dot, weather, and what not.
The license is the fun part! Enjoy it,and good luck to ya.Read that book over, and over, and over

Back when I took the tests for my permit I passed them all the first time.Oh I studied but alittle cheating didn't hurt.We could either take a written or off the comuter.I chose the written.Lady gave me 3 laminted sheets of the questions, someone ever so lightly circled the answers, lol. So that's how I passed.Although I did study hard and pretty sure I would have passed reguardless,I deliberately missed a couple questions here and there so they wouldn't get wise, lol.[QUOTE="semi" retired;4139840]Maybe they could write the answers on their arm.
