Ok as you see where I am from, here in Georgia. A friend and I have talked about this and he thought it would be a good idea if I can get it to work. They make MAUSOLEUMS here and ship them to different places. When they arrive they have to have a crane to unload them.

Idea is setting up a crane on a step deck upper deck. The crane must be able to lift 40Klbs range. It will need to reach out min 10feet from the trailer.

No different than a log trailer with its own loader or a cement block trailer with its mini crane.

true same concept but They not design for that much weight. Most of the local companies goes out with a crane on the trailer but they can only lift 4k lbs at best.

I believe where they do have cranes that run a track on the flatbed for the smaller monuments the one for the MAUSOLEUMS will have to be much bigger. Even have to put extended footing to keep it over turning when lifting

If they will give you the work and PAY you enough to make it worth your while GO for it--and I would suggest you check with some of the cemeteries you may deal with--I watched a couple go down the road(wish I had a pic)that had a whole infrastructure --with over head crane of sort built onto the trailer--looked like the whole structure was strapped thru and then hooked to overhead on arrival--course this would limit other uses of trailer--just a thought.......
Other thought would be toalk to or just stop by Miller in Choo-Choo--My older brother runs a rotator wrecker--where the boom is capable over over 60k--now I know that is a very heavy wrecker--but they might be able to give you some insight.....
This might make the thing heavy--but doesn't mean(again if they are willing to pay)you cant run it as permit loads--if you do the math for them--might pay ofr them to pay you as heavy haul vs price of Crane rental............
    Good Luck

Coastie, why not mount the crane with containermounts.
The containerblocks on the craneframe, the locks on the trailer.
When you don't need the crane, just leave it at home.
I have seen trucks set up like that.
And you can still put the crane where you want it on the trailer.

If I could get this to work and get the money for it It would work out great, Now by me posting it here It could be taken up by someone else but as of right now I do not know anyone with this set up so I could get going easy. Well since I do live where the majority are made.. Yes in St Cloud MN and up in Vermont make them also but Elberton is the Granite Capital of the World.. We produce more than any other city in the world. Ok bragging done hehehe

What I would need a crane that can turn to the side and reach out min of 10 feet. I would not be able to back up to the site to be set on. The idea is to keep from having a rental crane which cost alot for someone to hire. So the selling point of it Cost savings to the customer. So yes I would charge more than they would to the other companies that haul them but they save on not having to hire a crane. What if they had to hire a crane and the truck arrives late? Higher cost. So it a win win plan for the customer.

Ok thanks I was thinking of a way to permently mount it to the trailer, I would use the trailer for that purpose alone.

    The Mausoleum weighs 40k.

How much do you think the crane plus the outriggers are going to weigh?

I'll bet the trucks gross will be over 100k.

True the 40K is a few of them. Some are smaller been hauled on 10 wheelers even on smaller 5th wheel trailers. One guy Hauled one from Miami to West Virginia with body inside. Those would be in the 20K or maybe a little less.

Another Idea is have that one out and about and meeting up with others that bring in the larger ones.
