From what I have heard TMC has the best pay for new drivers. They have nice equipment, but most big companies are the same as far as benefits and how you are treated. I was active as an 18K Spec. Forces for 8 yrs and am a reservist now, most all companies will work with your schedule if they have it in advance. Good Luck!

Okay thanks for the info everyone. I kinda had a gut feeling that was how it all operated and that they must have you back. I checked with TMC and my area is no longer in their hiring map, I was told call back in 6 months. So I guess we'll ride this interview thing next Friday and see what comes of it. I like the idea of a uniform and being clean cut, might just be a company for me. But if its a no-go I will be moving to plan B. I will tell yall that the transition from Allison autos to a 10 speed makes a whole world of difference lol

worked at averitt for 13 years.....before I went to Iraq as KBR truckdriver..drove in Iraq...from feb 2004 till dec 2011....applied to go back to work at averitt......they said we would love to have you back....but you havent driven under dot regs in last 8 years....so averitt wouldnt take me back at all.....went to Crete ....so far I have averaged a little over 2800 miles each week....Crete is very pro-military.....So far coming to Crete has been good....if you come to work at Crete...tell them truck 33568 sent you.....and I will split the $1000 recruit money I get ....with youSPC WHIGHAM Thanks this.

Haha okay I'll keep ya in mind! So I take it Averitt seems very legit, how was the work environment?
-
I liked averitt too....I was there for 13 years....Averitt is legit...but Crete is also....Averitt said if I would drive for somebody else for 6 months..under dot rules....they would hire me back.....but Crete gave me a chance....thats says a lot to me...no way i would leave Crete now...
-
Thats good! The CRETE/SHAFFER website def seemed pro military. This whole webcam interview is something new to me with Averitt. Everyone says all they wanna do is put a face with the application. I was told I'd know before I leave whether I'm goin to orientation or not. I'm sure it wasn't so technological back then either lol
