Exactly why we will not let ours go. We have control, not the other way around.

I would have better luck bending steel with my !%&$ than getting through to him about this!

......sorry,he was offered $30.000 for the trailer today,AND TURNED IT DOWN!!! :biggrin_2554:

last year i was in looking for a reefer company to lease on to or just run me 100% of the time and me use my authority. the more i looked the less i was impressed. it seemed that most places my 98 pete and 01 GD was not good enough to haul their loads. even though i had 18 nearly new tires and a fresh overhaul and a unit with 13,000 hours on it, the age thing still kept me from leasing on. what tics me off the most is i was wanting to go to cargill after i talked to several guys leased on. well the recuiter guy told me my stuff was too old no matter how nice it was. ok thats fine if thats their rules but some of the o/o equipment i have seen leased on over there is not even close to the level mine is on.(not saying my stuff is the best on the road cuz its not).
seemed like the only places i could go to work wanted to pay on mileage and i am not that type of guy. alll that being said i would try to finad a couple of good brokers or small shippers to run me to a certain area and find the same thing going back.

I know what your mean about Cargill.I talked to one of the head nuts and i asked him about the age thing. I said if i had a 2000 Pet that i had just spent $200 thousand on turning it into a custom show truck you would still not let me lease it on with your company. He said no matter what, if it were 5 years or older they would not take it,sounds like a stpuid ### rule to me!

Unless you had your own athority then they would broker the loads at that point you could driver what ever you wanted.
