The PSI needed should be based on the average weight you carry. Otherwise you can develop under-inflation or over-inflation tire wear. Michelin has “load and inflation” tables on their website. Their recommendation for dual singles in a tandem axle is actually lower than 100. I personally use about 105 on my tires. They appear to be wearing okay on my truck drives.
I’ve never heard this claim before. I would say more hp to get to the top of the mountain faster doesn’t necessarily increase your mpg. There must be a hp sweat spot based on weight and upgrade percentage. I wonder who has put this to the test.
