Was just wondering if there are any non-mega, sub-500ish truck companies out there (like FCC or Magnum) that have a lot of freight that runs the lower corridors (e.g. I-10/I-20/I-40 from Cali to the southeast GA/NC/SC region) and from the PNW down to the south/TX region that hire out of Texas. Not necessarily JUST those areas, like a "western 11" company, but someplace where it's not uncommon to get 2 or 3 of those type of runs every month or so. Preferably dry van or reefer. Seems like the more searching I do, the more I think my only/best option is to buy my own truck and go wherever I want lol.

    Thoughts?

AN Webber out of Kankakee IL does. I'm not sure about their entire hiring area, but they hire out of west Texas for sure. They haul PACCAR parts from the PNW to TX, and they run AO Smith water heater loads from El Paso to various drop yards in the SE and Midwest for their local/regional guys to deliver. They fit at the smaller end of the size at 130-ish trucks, but have been around long enough to have a 5-digit DOT number. I believe their terminals are in Kankakee, El Paso, Pleasant View, TN, and McBee, SC.

Trius is a great suggestion . When I was there I’d pick up produce in CA or AZ and deliver to Tx or somewhere in the southeast usually(90%) then you pick up chicken in TX ,LA or AR and deliver back to AZ and Ca . Newer trucks governed at 75-77 depending on the truck ,some run faster mine was set to 85

Home terminal is in Fresno , they also have a yard in Phx and some yards in Tx . Pretty good gig if you don’t mind reefer work , the owner Nick will run you if want the miles / money
