Well Im sorry for your loss but you need to stop blameing the company as I read the story and the company was not negligent your son was as soon as you except the fact he was doing something he wasent supposed to be doing the sooner youll be able to heal.no one told him to ridae on a running board he knew better
-
i go to many of the same customers as they do. im sure i have seen this man. i dont know any of them by name
we wont convince her otherwise and she will let us know her opinion
our company has a safety manager and every thing they do minimizing liabililty is their first concern. we have many senior drivers who will call the office and report any possible hazard.i believe they should confront the people in person before they call
these people have a boss and there is no way this states agencys are gonna tell the woman her son is responsibleBradsmom60 Thanks this. -
Well arent we all COMPANY men now! If you look every accident the Driver made atleast 1 bad decision er go the company is never at fault!
-
with all the regulations osha etc i if one of your employees is killed you have a big problem and a 2800$ fine will be far from the worst of your problems.
in this day and age who can afford the insurance premiums and litigation?
you make a bad move around one of these mills and your banned for everBradsmom60 Thanks this. -

What happened, was Brad was a seasoned driver. The other guy was an other the road driver, but had no experience hauling out of the woods, so Brad took him under his wing and teaching him all the how toos and wherefors. Brad had already made it down the mountain. The other driver on the CB, told Brad that he was unsure and affraid he couldnt get er down without going over and down. He jumped into the foremans pu and drove back up to help him get down without mishap. Brad told him to shift down and proceed with extreme caution. OF ALL DAYS, The driver brought his dog to work with him, and so there was no room inside the cab. Brad being the wonderful person he was, told him that he would just hop on the running board, and wanted to watch his wheels. Great Idea, but fatal. The truck tire hit a rut, and in seconds, it tipped over crushing Brad with the air cleaner cylinder on the side.
Your right, it was a bad choice he made, that ended in tragedy. He laid under that truck crushed to death for 9 hours before thhey got it off of him. The driver was trapped inside the cab, with his face looking at Brads face the whole time it took.
Some said that it really traumatized him and now doubtful if and when he will return to the road, never again the woods. -
Thank You Slim1, I appreciate how you put it as it softens the blow of adverse opinions. I know I aggree with you about them struggling trying to stay in business and keep afloat. Its just grief and dispair talking. I just cannot get the thought of him, being crushed to death and laying under that truck for 9 hours before the coroner could take him. He was such a great guy, and I know he made the decision to hop on the side to help the other driver. I just miss him so bad, you know what I mean.
Take care buddy, and thanks again, Tess -
Your right and I know that.He made a fatal mistake upon a seconds notice and lost his life. Bad decisions usually result with permanant damage..Death or dismemberment.
Happy Trails you all, but just remember TO USE BETTER JUDGEMENT And Think it through before you make that move. The life you save, may be your own.....
