Greetings!
I am 37. I have neuropathy in my feet which is sad for my age. My strength, reflexes and sensations are normal. I just have burning pain in my feet and lower legs. I take Gabapentin 300 mg three times a day. I take amitriptyline and Quetiapine before going to bed.
I have always wanted to drive a truck. But I am not sure if I will be hired with my condition.
Also, is it practical to have a 10 min walk after every 2 hours of driving the truck?
Looking forward to hearing from you people.
God bless!
Nerve pain and medication, could I have a career in trucking?

I am interested in long cross country driving. I don't mind living in a truck to cut costs like rent and utilities. I can leave my stuff at a relative's place.

Oh, and Gabapentin doesn't make me drowsy. I have been taking for a while my body is used to it.

Also, there is hope that my pain will get better over time.

Learn to manage your time well, and a 10 minute walk every two hours is feasible.

What would concern me is the numbness in your feet and feathering the brake pedal , i know a driver with the same issue that crashed into the side of a building a few years back.
Gabe , from what i read you will need a letter from your Dr stating that Gabepenten is not prescribed for seizures.
Best of luck.Last edited: Feb 1, 2022
