Just curious what some of you guys are making out here with your truck. Either own authority or leased on to someone. Total net income truck payment fuel. Insurance even taxes. Is 1600 net a reasonable number?? Running flatbed.or is it more like 1100 to 1200? I just wamna see where some of you are at and if becoming owner op is even worth it finacially. I know the freedom muat be great. It wouldnt make sense to become owner op for 1100 1200 net a week thats what im making as a company driver without any headaches.

I'm brand new and was a company driver for many years before. It's a little early to give you an average but If I was only netting 1600 a week I would go back to those nice paid vacations and health insurance.

First,my assumption of netting income may be wrong and completely different from yours. But.

After the truck bills (taxes, fuel, payments) and home bills (mortgage, utilities, food) are paid then the leftover each week is what I call net income. Money in the bank and saved for later.

For instance, gross income at 3200/wk.
    Bills/taxes at 2100/wk.
    Net at 1100/wk.
Sounds to me like the company driver is paying his bills out of the weekly $1600 settlement, whereas the 0/0 has that 1100 left over after already doing that.

Disclaimer: we can see the faults in the low numbers, but KISS for example sake. Let's assume the 'bills' include everything imaginable under the sun a responsible person would pay timely.

    Any additions?

Problem with not including personal items like a house is where is the line?

He may have bought that 5 acres so he could build a shop and park his rig for example. Point is it's impossible to answer the question as asked as there are too many variable.

Argh #### it!!!!!! I told u not to answer like that lol. All things considered truck payment. Fuel average costs. Plates. Insurances. Say your signed on to landstar and all the expenses they charge you. Lets not include any type of maintence besides a basic maintence fund. 73% linehaul minus all those fixed expenses fuel plus or minus a couple hundred bucks. Whats left lets use realistic hypothetical numbers. Say 1800 a month for truck lets not include any of the expenses other people may not have like buying land. Home bills. Sex lube etc.

Where do you live? You cant make the same everywhere and freight you move is region specific too. Midwest great for flat bed. Plus flat has a tendency to be seasonal.
