Ok I am going to answer the question you asked. I am NOT going to use my own numbers. I am more than sure some will disagree with me.
Guy leased on to a company
    2700 miles a week avg.
$1.50 a mile aftr fuel surcharge.
    2700÷6mpg =450 gallons a week
    450x$3 a gallon= $1350
Lease purchase 650 a week out side finance $1700 a month
    Insurance $450 a month
Company b.s. they always nickel and dime ya over $75 a week.

    2700x$1.50= $4050
    450×3= $1350 +450+75=$1875

$4050-1875=$2175. Deduct truck payment whats left over is the number you were looking for. (Of course you still have taxes health insurance etc to pay)
And you fuel Bill would be lower depending on your companies fuel discount. And of course super truckers run 4000 miles a week not 2700

I have my own #s I run about 1800 miles a week. I run mainly central Ny to Pa. And back. I could run a lot harder and make more but I'm happy. I'm home a lot and have a cattle farm also. My truck grosses right around $5100 for the week. I need $2500 to cover fuel ins. Tags taxes upkeep so on everything I need for the truck not including personal expenses (mortgage pay for myself) my truck and trailer are paid for and I worked hard to get the contacts to be able to do this on my own terms. It took years. Others can and will do better some not as good. I am happy with what I'm doing and paying bills with extra.

This is the first time I've ever seen. A guy with how own numbers, talking truthfull numbers. Thier not giant unbelievable numbers, but not bad for a guy. Who wants a life outside of trucking his ads off.

I was sharing a shuttle ride with an owner operator from our terminal over to a hotel. He was telling me there is no money in driving a truck only money in owning a truck. When we hopped out of the shuttle i asked if he would like to join me for dinner at a great steak house that was a very short walk from our hotel ? His answer ? "I dont have any money"

I've had my own numbers for over 10 years, and this has been a one man show journey since day one!
I've seen ups and downs during all this time but this year has been one of the best I ever seen.

Left for work on the 13th last month and will finally be back home this Monday, totaling forty one days and grossing $48,650, from the 13th to the 30th last month I was at $25,100.
Just did a quick add up of fuel receipts and I'm close to 10 grand.

I did an oil change myself during this time out and also had to replace Charge Air Cooler, Turbo and the tractor brakes, that comes to a little over $3400.00 (Including $165.92 I had to pay TA to do one axle cuz muy torque multiplier took a crap)

So I will be netting 35k this time around... but still not enough!
Everything is paid off, Insurance is 673.00 a month.

    xiipercent Thanks this.
