Well in the real world, this is unheard of in allot of cases. A below average carrier will pay .40 and lower, an average rate per mile is .40 to .45 cents per mile and .46 cent a mile and up is considered some of the better jobs today, but newbies out there that drive for under .36 cents a mile to start, you are the real problem with this industry today. When it comes to drivers pay we all suffer from drivers who accept these crappy .25 cent to .35 cent a mile driving jobs. And never get into one of those "Fleece", I mean Lease deals. You have a 98% chance of making .15 cents a mile, which equals BANKRUPTCY! There are company's out there that start in the high 30's to start. LOOK FOR THEM! Leave the bottom feeder carriers alone. Remeber, money and benefits talk, BS walks! And trust me, your in the right occupation for more than your fair share of BS! So make the best of it.

I agree with him. I'm not taking a 30 cent per mile job when I can find ones that pay upper 30's or lower 40's even with no experience (not very many but there are some).
I've noticed that the companies that do tanker, flatbed, or overweight pay a lot more, so that's where I'm headed.tahokid Thanks this. -
