I can't believe it I have a nice 2002 Chevy Astrovan that is fully loaded leather seats the whole 9-yards and I've got it for sale for $4,000 bucks which isn't even that much money and the few phone calls I've gotten were all "tire kickers" who have a budget of about $1,500 and not a penny more.
The van is in good shape interior is nice and everything, it runs fine tinted windows all around everything in it works I have a For Sale sign on it and it's been posted on the internet and zero zilch nothing no calls or anything. It runs fine looks good I don't get it. Are people just that broke? I mean $4,000 isn't even that much money really... I mean yeah I realize that a millionare isn't going to buy it, but there isn't some regular guy or gal out there who says hey screw it I'll just spend $4,000 grand get this thing not have a car payment or anything else and have this one for 3-4 years what ever no biggie.
I thought about keeping it, but for carrying my gear for work my F-150 works better, but I for sure thought it would sell quickly and here I am nothing zilch zip oh well. Thanks for reading my complaint LOL!
Here's a couple pictures so you can see what I'm trying to sell. Yeah there isn't one person here that wants it not a single person in the entire state of Ohio that wants this van hard to believe, but I guess that's how it goes. There isn't even some high school kid who wants it insulting almost LOL!

Face it Mike, it looks great, but vans are really"uncool" right now. Unlike back in the seventies when they were ##### wagons.
How does your price compare to book prices? If it's in as good shape as it looks, you should be able to get top dollar on it. Just a matter of time until the right person sees your ad.
I wouldn't run the ad for more than a week or so. People see the same ad over a period of time, and figure it hasn't sold, because there's a problem with it. If you don't sell it within a week or so, pull the ad. Wait a couple of months and run it again.
Personally, about the only thing I hate worse than buying a vehicle, is selling one.
Good luck!Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I think it's a shame that GM discontinued the Astro. It's built on a half ton truck frame and was a pretty tough rig. Also it had decent ground clearance, which you won't find on any current mini-van. And full size vans are huge money drains.

Read my mind, Don.
While I personally wouldn't own a van, nor have I ever - Mike, it's a nice Shaggin' Wagon and i hope you can get what it's worth. -
Maybe try and up your asking price. At that low of price maybe people think there's something wrong with it. I think that was the problem I had when I sold my old Dodge 4x4 truck last year. Granted it wasn't in as nice as condition as your van it still had a ton of recent work and parts on it, plus a lift kit and new 33" tires. I wrote in bold on the add "no trades" and about 3 people contacted me wanting to trade their beat up old #### boxes without even looking at the truck. Another few wanted to see service records and I was like "I'm a mechanic. Did all the work myself, no service records." Never heard from them again. Had the add up for about 3 months before some guy finally bought it. He was pretty decent and offered me $3500 because it needed a windshield. I was asking $4k and figured that was a reasonable offer.

@Mike2633 How many miles are on it?
-
138,800 which isn't super duper high for a car now a days. I mean it's not low, but still has plenty of life left in it.

I have a similar situation with a 1.08 are lot I own in the White Mountains of NH. Have listed it off and on now for the last 5 years. This past spring I listed it again at a price $5,500 thinking it'd be under agreement within days...Just getting tired of paying the tax on something I haven't seen or touched in the last 6 years. Absolutely not one call to the realtor all this time and I just instructed him to lower it another $500.
What I've decided now is if it doesn't sell by December I'm donating it to a veterans group and taking the accessed value of 15k for a tax deduction....I'm tapping out!
All I can tell you is keep dropping the price in small increments until it generates some activity, or just put your lowest price on it where you won't budge. If that don't work you could also donate it and get the top appraisal price for a deduction on taxes...your CPA can tell you if you'd benefit from it.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Your asking to much. Kelly blue book says its worth $2800.
