I'll go along with that.
As far as Logic, it's all about the money. 50 miles is cheaper than a problem. We all point and laughed about the idiot who tried to run against a ramp clearly built to prevent him from being able to access 95 directly on that bridge in Fla. Causing a bunch of money in damaged.
We need smart drivers who think for themselves, not automatons who are yesmen and unable to show initiative. Actually I want drivers to have a pair. And use them while thinking how to solve a problem.
Never seen a good company

Please understand, I was definitely NOT criticizing your post that I responded to. Believe me, I'll take all the advice I can get. That post was extremely descriptive, and a great explanation of how to handle a nasty road. More of that is needed in my opinion. I think that everyone should have to run those roads, just for the knowledge. I also think that for every road like that there should be a patient person like you that explains how to handle it. Being a newbie isn't a choice for me, it's a fact of life. I'll get experience over time, but until then posts like yours are beyond helpful. So thank you again, and keep them coming. For every post like that, there is a question that hasn't been asked or answered, and that means a lot to all of us new guys. The route I was talking about is kind of a rite of passage in my company, if you will. So, realizing that, my trainer let me know halfway through it that there is an easier way. At the time I was pissed when he told me, but I'm glad I ran it. Knowledge is power.Last edited: Oct 9, 2016

That is the funniest thing I've read in months, Brontosaurus steak for a penny
Thanks for pointing out that us new guys need help. It's very much appreciated. If you roll into my area, I'll buy you a beer
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
It's ok.
On a side note Im also laughing at the proverbial Brontosaurus Steak for a penny.
I remember when I was new and knew nothing. It was a horrible time. Created a sort of monster in a way, absorbing the ways of the parasites in dangerous places because I literally did not know better places to run like the intermountain west.
I'll take correction where needed, no worries. No criticism was thought of either. It's just really hard to convey the mindset behind a post unless someone is being blatantly baaad. -
Difference is that your here taking part and listening, the op is here complaining and not listening.sdaniel and Steelersjunkie Thank this.

I've been in The Gorge as a student, I feel your pain. Never been on 276. So far my least favorite road is 460 in West Virginia/Virginia. I'll never run that road again. This is the route I mentioned that is our "rite of passage". 460 to 81, then on to 220. 220 is no picnic either. Both of those roads can be circumvented by taking 77 to 58. Why they make us do it is beyond me. But again, live and learn. I'll spend the extra time to go around

I've learned one thing real quick about this job. Open ears and a closed mouth go a long way. There's a lot of wisdom out there if you pay attention and listen to other people.AModelCat Thanks this.
