If you go to your favorite browser and search on "trucking jobs" you will have a gizillion hits on companies that host their own schools. Be aware they are the usually mega-companies and you will find a lot out about them by reading this forum and their websites. Some examples that have their own schools are C.R. England, Swift, Werner, and Roehl to name just a few. I went through this process at length. Of the ones I've mentioned I would consider Roehl the upper tier of these and they are located in WI. just my $0.02.

i have done what you have said before and looked up companies with their own driving school n have found that not all places are grantee a job and most of those are are like a very costly interview with out a job after you finish

That's what I found out as well. From what I have gathered the schools appear to be a separate money-making entity from the company. So, you may pass but no guarantee the company will hire you.

Guys , you need to forget about a guaranteed job anywhere..... you can forget "free" too, not any such animal...there are no such things in any profession. If either one of you care to look and do some real research or spend some shoe-leather you can find schools that are very capable of giving you the proper training. But you must be willing to put forth some effort 1st yourself. Google private truck driving schools in your state jelly-man , then google local community colleges that are close-by , you are more than likely eligible for some-kind of student loans or program that will enable you to attend. Be ready to work for your self , not look for the easy way out....folks on this forum are willing to help all they can, but you must be ready to help youself 1st...your post reads like you want someone to do all the work for you , I may be reading it wrong , but that is the way I see it. Remember even if you work hard, in life there are NO guarantees....if you apply yourself you'll succeed , if you sit back and wait for it to come land in your lap , well Good Luck.....

The two cheapest are Prime and Central Refrigerated. As critters posted, Prime has tanker, flatbed, reefer.

I went the route of a community college. After doing all the research I came to the same conclusion: there are no guarantees. I read plenty of posts where folks when to a company's "school" only to find out he/she did not accepted to drive for the company. By going to my community college I have "un-biased" recommendations on companies not to mention the straight scoop on others. I narrowed by search to three companies and I have pre-hires by all of them...and NONE of them are the big mills. One is "smaller" company of "only" 300 trucks.

    sure, come on over.

I'll pay you, pay for all your training, pay for your damage to my equipment, etc.

All because you feel entitled to it.

Take some initiative and go talk to people in your community. Find out what's listed in the PHONE BOOK. You know what one of those are don't you?

If you think I am going off and sounding like a jerk and all, I AM.

I am also tired of people thinking that they are entitled to a job and a license and they can't even take the time to find out what the requirements are.

You know you need a license. Go talk to the DMV where you got your Class D or C or whatever it is you have for your car. It's a good place to start.

Want to LEARN something. Go talk to your local trade or community college.

You get out of ANY career exactly how much you put into it.
