Unless your pushin gobs of power you dont need a mid coil ant like a 10k..Lotsa other driver will like it more than you....Simple and cheaper and do a #### good job is a skip shooter....You can buy 3 of the ss for one 10k....
10k is a great ant dont get me wrong and i still have 2 but for my application i need a 102 or 7' shipper....I dont push more than 80 watts so i dont need it....A skip shooter is rated high enough to do 250 watts plus...Oh and you can pic a color scheme to that matches the truck..
Well....Thats my story and im stickin to it..Last edited: Feb 1, 2021

Hi Guys
Thank you all for all the antenna help and ideas. I ended up buying a Predator 10K single coil. I just have the antenna tipped forward a bit, and I am under 13 6. Seems to be working good SWR 1.2. I am happy.
The only problem, is that I think I screwed up my Galaxy 98VHP when I did not catch my broken antenna problem quick enough. I get squeling/feedback every time i key the mic. I have tried 3 different mics, and same issue. I put my old faithful Mirage 9900 back in tonight. Anyone have any ideas who would do a good job going through my Galaxy 98VHP? What repair shops have you had good luck with?
