No Bobtail Insurance. Instead Non Trucking Liability. Covers you when Unladen( empty) with it without a Trailer. Probably a Ryder of part of the Auto Liability. Not sure. Either way that’s what’s needed. General Liability covers any injuries caused to others by your equipment. Someone gets hurt on your Trailer, or bumps their head on your fender mirror, whatever. It’s extra insurance only required by a few Shippers. Very few. It can always be added later if needed. I had it for a while, it was supposedly going to become required standard by most. Hasn’t happened yet. Maybe turned down 5 loads in 16 yrs. that required it. Others that required it in contract, haven’t enforced it. When required, I check the yes box, let them figure it out. Just one more layer of BS. Designed to protect the Shipper/ Broker. I think a lot have it in their contracts in case it applies to the Load/Shipper. Unless it does, it’s overlooked.

The reason I asked about the Bobtail/NTL is because a good agent will know where to go shop you. They go by how long you've had continuous commercial coverage. They both count towards that. Also, rideandrepair has pointed out a major important detail...they didn't quote you for the Auto coverage at all. Call around because that agent seems q little clueless.

    Rideandrepair and nikmirbre Thank this.

Yes everything is on there except the Bobtail. Its included in the 11k for the tractor coverage. That includes the public liability(although agent hadn't heard it called that before)

I called and we got everything squared away..... they ran my MVR and everything..... I was quoted $14,100......

I looked back at the quote and realized that its $750k. I know thats the minimum. Does it make that big of a deal if its not 1million?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Most all brokers require a million liability minimum.
