Landstar accepts carriers with new authority, I know.
They have quick pay, which I like.
What other companies with a quick pay system will approve a new carrier?
Mercer?
J.B hunt?
Or do you think that factoring is the best option?
Thanks

Landstar told me two years
I just had this talk last week I was talking to one of the brokers I haul alot for and was telling him I was changing my company name he said I hope your using your numbers if I had new ones landstar wouldn't use me -
That's heartbreaking.
I guess, we'd better find an awesome non-recourse factoring company.and a few small brokers with good credit.
I don't want a minimum factoring requirement. -
I would stay as far away as you can from factoring company's 90% of the brokers offer quick pay so no use in signing up with any of them
DaRoad Thanks this. -
Just my opinion but Apex has been a good factor for me. Really doesn't cost me any more than broker quick pay and they have a killer fuel card with good discounts. The fuel discounts and tire discounts have offset a large chunk of the factoring costs. You might want to check them out.
As far as brokers go, there are a few that require 6 months or a year but many more (I'd say most) that don't care as long as you have insurance etc etc. I started a little over 14 months ago and did fine. You will too if you put in the effort. -
I'm on it. Thanks!

Half the authorities now are less than two years old.
Look at all the 6 & 7 numbers out there. I would say half the brokers are less than five years into it. It's all in how you talk to people. Landstar isn't to bad for starting out you can get a com data card to get paid on and you pretty much always get your money within four days. The down side is most of their brokers have no customers hardly so all the loads are double brokered.
They also can tell by your number you're a cherry and will try to screw you to death. Don't get me wrong there is a few decent LS agents out there but more wolves than anything.1958Pete Thanks this. -
There is a lot of brokers you can work with just start calling them have them to send you a carrier package. I know JB Hunt you have to have a year and a few others. I myself dont beleive in factoring just another hand in you pocket there are a lot of brokers that will do quick pay @ 1.5-3%1958Pete Thanks this. -
Mercer would accept new carriers and pays within 36 hours without charging any quick pay fee. Also usually one of the higher paying loads. Great to work with. They treated us very professional.
TQL and Roberson also accept new carriers but pay is on low side but very willing to nogociate.
I found 9 out of 10 brokers didn't seem to care. Just be sure to do a credit check on brokers as well. Best place for that is through Members edge/OOIDA
