It's not 1958 anymore. Be nice if it was, but "global" commerce is here to stay. My freakin' house pants were made in Egypt, for cripes sake, and all underwear is made in Vietnam, where do you think that crap comes into the states from? You can't have "cross-docking" like we used to. 1st, who is going to run a towmotor in 0 degree weather these days, and 2nd it's probably such cheap freight, they simply can't handle it too many times, and just easier to have a Canadian trucker deliver it right to a Walmart DC in Kansas.
I heard, there's a similar protest planned in the US for March 1st. -
So true. All small businesses destroyed for 2 years.
But the BIG ones, crying after couple days.
And here we go now. In the wrong direction.goga Thanks this. -
I'm sure there will be different tactics, most likely italian style, come to work, do nothing. There are many options to this. But the thing is, that many more people are joining the cause. Alaska started to move as well. It is going to be long run, sides have position to wait out each other at this point.

I wish people would stop picking on the Bureau of Land Management.

Humor...oddly enough can diffuse a situation, or light the fuse. Go figure.
Sirscrapntruckalot - I was wondering where all the Canada protest threads went. -
Most of them went to Politics. We've tried every way we could find to keep them in the main forum but inevitably the usual fighting, bickering, insults, name calling and other assorted childish behavior takes over and that makes them ideal candidates for Politics.
This one is teetering on the edge.Sirscrapntruckalot and goga Thank this. -
Creating separate, member only, secure "name calling" branch of the forum was a brilliant idea. People, just like in real life, tend to care less about the language while getting emotional, especially now when there is so much going on. For the most part it is just a "right/wrong" word games, but it gives an opportunity to let the steam out for some of the "mostly peaceful" folks.. without general public reading it and getting twisted sense of the such fine and informative place like TTR.
PS: at the end, most of us are just big kids, the way we like it)Magoo1968, God prefers Diesels and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
TTR is a fine place. For grown up adults, not big kids.
And it's not about a place for name calling. Most of us know how to control our emotions.
And how to respond to obvious provocations. They know who they are.
Thank you for your contributions. Most of them are right on the mark.Sirscrapntruckalot and goga Thank this. -
No argument to that, some of us are still little

Yep, that's the thing, there are some that can't, but still are useful)
