Not me. These internationals are Cadillacs. I been doing this along time and this is by far the best riding truck I ever had. I had a casscadia when I first started and would not take one back over this truck any day. The whole fleet is going to prostars. As they phase out the cascadias they are being replaced with prostars. That come from several people including two of the owners

I've driven a Prostar before. There ok. If they want me to drive one with the automatic transmission I won't do that.
I drove an automatic for a few months years ago, I don't like them. They keep their trucks 5 years before they get rid of them. The Freightliners are going to be around for a few more years. If they go to all automatic transmissions then I'll be moving on to some other company.

I am not usually a big fan of automatics...especially in the mountains and winter driving....

however the older i get i find my knees and hips are starting to ache and an automatic could be nice in that regards....

they do have the manual option on them. If they could only get rid of all the lag between going from forward to reverse while backing..

the down side to the ones sec got is the fact they are single screw drive axles... no way on that one for me.

Oh ya I forgot about the dummy axle they have. Their ok for city and local driving but automatics where not made for winter driving or the mountains. I'm not driving a pickup truck. I want all the control I can get when I'm driving 80,000 lbs down a mountain or on a slick road.

Agreed, it's crazy to think any company that deals with true winter states like the upper Midwest and the Northwest would go to a single screw.

I've also driven a Pornstar, doesn't even compare to the T680 I'm driving now.

Hey Tow they have driver facing cameras at Big G? My guess is no but just checking. I can't deal with this F N camera staring at me, just 2 feet from my face!

I can't see them mandating driver facing cameras.
I can see them mandating front facing cameras and have no problem with that but I've been driving with a driver facing camera for 3 weeks and ready to move on.

I agree with you. I am a lot less tired at the end of the day with a automatic then I was getting beat to death and banging all day in that frieghtliner. I don't really have any problems with the mountains and winter driving and I was caught in that blizzard in Michigan last winter and still did ok but yes you can always use the Manuel. I like these automatics to because you can set the cruise and it want break it changing gears. I pull mount eagle on cruise every time.the last 30 prostars they bought have the double screw axles.

Different strokes Junebug. Glad your happy and like your truck.

Just curious, how slow are you going by the time you top Monteagle with a heavy load?

Yea you right. LOL. It pulls mount eagle in 8th gear at about 1700 rpms. I usually go up it at about 50 or 52 with 78 thousand. It pulls good because I usually pass everything going up through there unless they are empty.I usually just stay in the middle lane.
