New CDL help, can I test out and be on the road?

Try calling around to local CDL mills and community colleges and ask if you can do a "refresher" for less money/time, given your experience level. I did that back when I got mine reinstated, but that was 10 years ago and it wasn't a requirement (still isn't in GA far as I know). I did it just to have a piece of paper for lawsuit insulation the first year or two. Basically had a week using their truck and range to practice, then went with their regular group on test day.

 

I just moved from Tacoma

Back when I was looking into getting a CDL I found the easiest option was to 'move' to a buddies in Oregon. Just had to wait 21 days after getting an Oregon license to do the road test, no schooling required. The 3rd party tester could line up a rental truck if need be
