I'd run, not walk, run from Falcon. Their CSA scores should tell you everything you need to know about them. They are a JIT carrier. Most of their accounts are for the Auto Industry. JIT means just in time. What that means is you will be making deliveries to auto plants on a strict time table. They have some of the oldest equipment of any major carrier with some of their tractors over 10 yrs old. Trailers are even older. They don't care, (based on their CSA HOS scores) if you are tied up in traffic, broke down, what have you, they only care about getting the parts to the plant on time as they are fined for late delivery. They've tried recruiting me as well and when I asked about their CSA scores all they would tell me is they "fired" the people responsible.
Flat bedding isn't as bad as you'd think but then again, its not for everyone but neither is trucking.
Good luck on your choice.

Then you can still do like China said. Get the 6 months then check back with them. Can't hurt anyway. I can't see them black balling someone a whole career for that. But hey, their are some spiteful people out there too.TroyD Thanks this.

Yeah CSA is horrible!!! Never even knew to look that up until now. So the way I understand that is I'm pretty much guaranteed an DOT inspection anytime Im out?

Keep looking!
1. Hard driving in congestion
2. As others said
3. You don't want a relief delivery job. You are always doing someone else's route. Them beverage jobs you want your own route to make any money and get use to the customers, etc. If you don't know the route it takes much longer to do.TroyD and Truckergirl0720 Thank this. -
Yep, every state will automatically inspect these trucks on the highways. Know a guy who used to work for them and he was told to route around weigh stations, sometimes hours out of the way, which in turn made him run over his 11/14 in order to make the delivery on time. And like any other company, you are responsible for any fines or tickets given while you are driving.

Well, talk to some current Falcon drivers and get their opinion. Current drivers would know more than me or a student trying to give you advice. It's your call though. Wanting lots of home time, you are limited, being a new CDL grad.
TroyD Thanks this. -
