Answer to your earlier question -- no, getting a CDL is generally not a mistake.

As you can see by all the above -- a CDL (class "A") opens up the door to A LOT of opportunities.

And $$$$$$$ .

However -- until you find a sitter and/or another family member to take care of/raise your child while you are out -- it will be either impossible (or next to it) to move forward with pretty much any worthwhile carrier.

How old is the child ?
and if you don’t have a sitter , this is going to be a difficult issue .

if the child is school age you may be able to drive a school bus .
