    I can't believe I'm reading your 2019 posts.
    On second thoughts, why not.
    Great posts, by the way.

I was thinking about going to KLLM for school i see they have good home time and the pay increase they just had. Do you actually get 3,000 miles and do they have APU"s and whats the top speed?

As a new driver, the very least of your concerns should be the speed limiter setting.

Rarely hit 3k in miles. It's reefer, so miles are going to be a bit lower than dry van. Detention after 2 hours. Trucks have APUs. Governed at 65. Don't worry about the speed. It doesn't affect your paycheck. O/Os gain a slight advantage by having faster trucks. You are limited by how long you are at a shipper/receiver, how quickly after being empty you get your reload, how well you communicate your availability to your dispatcher. Speed of the truck makes a difference of like 15 minutes max over a 10-hour trip. 15 minutes is not even worth having a discussion about.

Kind of depends on where you are as far as speed not mattering. I run central US (mainly Mn to In). I can run Minneapolis (actually just south of town) to Louisville (776 mi) more or less legally (most of the speed limits are 70 between here and there, so I typically run 75mph). 10mph is going to let you get 110 miles further down the road. And out west, its a 150 mile difference. So thats an hour and a half to 2 hours difference. Driver fatigue is the leading cause of truck crashes (and the DOT wants to put speed limiters on us - heh).

Thats 10 hours in a 5 day week. Doesnt matter? Does to me. Home 10 hours earlier. 10 hours more rest. 10 hours less having to deal with traffic. Doesnt matter?

You are the exception, not the rule.
