I'm a new CDL holder and I'm looking to move to either Texas or Florida or New Orleans. Which state would be my best bet for finding a job asap

Avoid Florida imo, just hard to get out sometimes.
Texas has a lot of great driving jobs, low cost of living, and we don't have state income tax.
My advice? Move close to a port city and run Tanker. You'll be home every few days and easily make 50k+ your 1st year.
@Chinatown may be able to recommend some good companies.

You can find a job ASAP anywhere in the USA, but the quality of living may not be what you want.
With a family, location is important, but for trucking jobs, they're anywhere.
Of those 3 you listed, I'd go with Texas.Any type of trucking job you want in Texas and easy to get.
Austin is ok and Labatt Foodservice has a facility there. Excellent hometime.
If I moved to Texas, would probably choose Austin.
Plenty of good tanker jobs in Texas also.

I edited Post #3 to include foodservice. Labatt has opening for drivers in Austin. Looks like you would be a trainee if under 6 mos. experience or a route driver from the beginning if over 6 mos. experience.

Pick a town; lots of Texas drivers on here to get suggestions from.
When I moved to Las Vegas, I used www.city-data.com to help make a decision.

One thing about foodservice, is if you pick from the big 5 you can always transfer to another state afterwords.
Downside is you normally need to be near a metro area.
For example if my spine was in good shape, I would be in foodservice right now. Multiple offers around DFW, some home daily, but must home 1-2nights a week and off weekends for 65-80k a year.

In Fort Worth for example- Sysco has a huge DC here. 4 day workweeks, 60k+ 1st year. With no driving experience they will bring you on as a helper for 700-800/week, and you will work up to a driver position over 6months to a year. Lead drivers make around 1200/week on a 4 day workweek...

Houston and Corpus for tankers though, once you have a few years of hazmat tanker you can find a local job hauling fuel literally anywhere in the US...

@New2Trucking2017 here Houston we have a bit of everything from LTL paying up to 27dls an hour to tankers so you can work out here in out of Pasadena where the majority of chemical plants are, plus the cost of living in Houston is pretty affordable. Good luck and I hope you choose what fits your criteria.
