Lumpers are a contract service at many warehouses, especially grocery warehouses, that unload and break down pallets and sort freight for distribution. They can be a pain for drivers to deal with mostly because drivers have to arrange payment for the service, and sometimes the bill can be upwards of $300 depending on the freight. Usually that just means writing a comcheck and waiting while they call in the express code, but there's often a line of other disgruntled drivers waiting to do the same thing. I do not miss having to deal with lumpers in the slightest.

However if you are a young one, you cannot expect to haul fuel etc for a while (Most people at or under 25 generally did not get to run fuel for insurance and other reasons)
My school of tanking is real simple. Put a large mcdonalds coffee ahead of your shifter on the cab floor and drive until you don't spill it. And done. You are now qualified to run tanker. It's actually a living thing making trouble for you in that trailer if you are not careful. You will also learn small tricks like applying power when the load is piled up in the back and easing off as it flows back to the front so it does not slam you. Things like that.ChancesRGood and G13Tomcat Thank this.
