I looked at older news articles, when Arrow went down in 2009, Dahilmer was trying to recover or recoup losses of about a 1,000 trucks.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

There was a guy in Willingsboro today from Daimler trying to get info on all the Cascadia's that they leased to NCT. He told me they probably wont be able to recoup their money or trucks.
-
So they were operating on Credit all the time?
-
I would consider 700 power units a large company. Seems like they usually separate large/medium/small by revenue though.
-
I'm not saying its ethical, but it is very common business and natural practice. Businesses grow off of other peoples wasted; humans survive off of dead plants and animals...
-
I don't really see anything unethical about it. They know these New Century drivers will be looking for jobs, so they're getting their names out there, and, from what I've gathered, they're giving the drivers the opportunity to come talk to them at a location convenient for the drivers - not hounding the drivers the moment they start clearing out their trucks. Opportunistic, yes, but I wouldn't call it unethical.
Stile, cowboy_tech, Shaggy and 3 others Thank this. -
Seems like a helping hand in time of need ?KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this.
-
Depends on what they're offering. They are probably counting on the displaced drivers to take whatever is handed to them, which could be worse than just a lowball offer.
-
Yes, this is why I mentioned ethics. A good friend, who unfortunately lost his job on this deal, said there were guys out there offering 32 cpm to drivers w/ 5 or 6 years of experience. Of course the driver can say no, but still...
-
It seems opportunistic which doesn't usually equate to helping a friend in need. It's not necessarily wrong, probably seems worse than it is.
